Bogumiła Staniów is a professor at the Institute of Information and Media Science at the University of Wrocław. Her research focuses on publishing for children and young people, particularly popular science books, magazines, translation reception, and school librarianship. She is the author and co-author of five books — including A Popular Science Book for Children and Young People in Polish Schools in the Years 1945–1989 (2018) — as well as over 100 scientific articles. Her current interests include how topics such as health and illness are presented in children’s literature and periodicals. She is also currently researching the issue of ideological indoctrination of children and young people in magazines during the Polish People’s Republic.
